His coat was blue with a crossed white sash so the rebels. I mean come on peeps, who didn't learn the story of Paul Revere riding like a bat out of hell yelling, "The Red Coats are coming! The Red Coats are coming!" when the British invaded? Blue coat? Not British. Crossed white sashes? Better to identify your fellow rebel soldiers in the dark and confusion, since both sides had the same colored skin for the most part.
