Is there anything tI can do to help accidentally smoky tasting soup?

A few times I have left soup cooking too long or at too high a temperature and it has ended up with quite a smoky taste. Any solutions??

Update:

The dog would not even try it..He looked up at me and gave me that wonderful doggie, look, really saying, "Are you kidding me" :

You most likely scorched the soup. There is nothing I know of that will remove that flavor as it permeates the soup.

Throw it out, you ruined it. Buy a frame spreader and use thicker bottomed pots. Stir it often.

    Not rocket science.

transfer pots and add some more veggies such as diced raw potatoes , dilute with more stock and add some spice such as paprika and taste test if more masking add some hot sauce etc.

Add sugar to it, that will reduce the burntness!

Give it to you dog otherwise!
