What are disturbing/twisted versions of fairytales?

apparently a lot of fairytales originate from rather creepy stories which were initially used as warning stories. For example little red riding hood the wolf was originally a peadophile, can you tell me any other fairytales with twisted origins? this is for my gcse drama piece so we decided to base it on disturbing versions of common fairytales :)

Okay, here's some really creepy ones.

The Pied Piper-at the end of the Pied Piper, he drowns all the children in a river, except for one lame boy who couldn't keep up. Many modern scholars believe that this tale has connotations to pedophilia.

The Little Mermaid-as the prince is drowing, he is rescued by the little mermaid who falls in love with him, then she leaves before he wakes up. When he wakes up, he sees a princess leaning over him who he thinks has rescued him which breaks the little mermaid's heart. She then makes a deal with the underwater witch and exchanges her beautiful voice for legs. When she still can't woo the prince, the witch gives her a knife to stab him, otherwise she will die. She doesn't do it and instead jumps into the water, turns into foam and becomes a child of the air. (I know the most about this story as i've read the original and have a book of it).

Sleeping Beauty-Sleeping Beauty falls asleep for many years because of a prophecy. A king finds her and rapes her and she becomes pregnant. She then awakens because of twin babies kicking her stomach.

Goldilocks and the three bears-Goldilocks is actually an ugly hag who gets scared when the bears arrive and jumps out of a window which breaks her neck.

Hansel and Gretal-the witch is actually a devil. The children try burning him but he doesn't die. Then he tries to kill one of the children by making them sit on a sawhorse. The child pretends that they don't know how so his wife tries to demonstrate. As soon as she lies down, both children slash her throat and run away.

Cinderella-when the prince arrives at Cinderella's house, one of her step sisters cuts off parts of her foot to fit it into the glass slipper. The step mother encourages this as she believes that she won't need to use her feet once she becomes a princess as everyone will do everything for her. However, on the way to the palace, a bunch of crows see blood on her slipper and start singing 'coo coo, there's blood on the shoe, the shoe is too tight, the bride is not right' which makes the prince realise that she's the wrong girl. The prince then takes Cinderella to his home instead and marries her. The crows then peck out the eyes of the ugly step sister and make her blind. The story ends with Cinderella living in luxury whilst her step sisters and mother become beggars.

I really hope this helped and good luck with your work!

If you want truly disturbing versions of fairy tales why not go to the originals in their real form of the German Language - just get a real translation of them (if you can't read German). The real true German versions of the Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales are very different from the happy Americanized/Disney versions and can be thought provoking and gruesome. Enjoy!

People can make a variant of it, or are trying, but Disney would certainly not tolerate it. It will wreck their photograph, more than Vanessa Hudgens snapshot pornagraphy.(sorry Vanessa!!) i would also under no circumstances watch...In any respect!!!!!!!!!
