Of course it depends a lot on the level of the job but regardless there are some things every employer looks for.

Well groomed and appropriately dressed. That means looking clean, Hair and nails etc well trimmed. Clothes clean and neat looking.

Speak well. That does not mean loudly but speak in a clear voice at a level where you can be heard and suggests that you are confident of what you are saying.

Show enthusiasm. Make it sound like you can be the greatest asset this company can have. Show them you are willing to work hard, willing to satisfy their customers and if necessary willing to go the extra mile like work past normal hours from time to time.

Show you are a team player. Tell them how you enjoy working in a team and helping the team as well as learning from others. Tell them about groups or teams you have been a part of.

All employers look for these traits in their employees.

    Good luck.

I don't think they will hard on you being in grade 11 and all but remember the old say ( Hard questions must have hard answers ) The interviewer's task is to evaluate various areas of your background, such as your work experience, education communication skills, salary history, etc They will ask personal details like, do you have drivers license? have you ever been convicted for driving offenses? do you have any chronic health conditions? How far do you live from the office? Education and training. What college did you attend? Why did you choose that particular institution? Did your family have any influence on your choice of career? What was your major? Do you think you made the right career choice? Do you feel your education prepared you well for the challenge in the work force? How did you do in school? How did you finance your education? Did you ever need tutoring? How much knowledge gained in school do you feel you could use on this job? What courses in school gave you the most difficulty? Attention to detail. Do you occasionally get board while doing detail work? Do you like analytical tasks? Do you lose interest in doing the same tasks over and over again? Energy. When you tend to do your best work, in the morning or in the afternoon? How you catch up on work after a holiday? What you do with your spare time? Entegrity. You've got to stand for something, or you're going to fall for anything. Have you ever done any foolish things? Have you ever broken the rules? The list go on and on, but I think this would be enough for you, if you need the proper answer for the above please use my e-mail and I would be happy to help and supply you with the answers you need, all the best.

Below are interviews and questions ask shared by applied who applied at Staples various locations.

Cashier at Staples Accepted Offer – Interviewed in San Francisco, CA– Reviewed Jan 17, 2013

Interview Details –It was a fairly straightforward experience. I walked in, saw they were hiring. I was asked to submit a resume online. They called a couple of weeks later.

Interview Question –They used a lot of hypothetical interview questions, like "what would you do if you saw a customer stealing"? (always say approach customer ask if you can help which usually means they will leave if they don';t report to manager ASAP).

Copy Center Associate at Staples Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Astoria,

Interview Details –The interview was very easy. The manager calls me to come visit the store for an interview the following day. When I get there he takes me to his very small office and asks me a few questions. For instance, what are my career goals. Another question was how well can I handle multitasking.

Interview Question –How well can you handle multitasking? Why do you want to work for Staples?

Where you do see yourself with Staples a year from now? Do you have any problems with selling services? Tell me about a time you received criticism and how you handled it?

Inventory Associate at Staples Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Miami, FL

Interview Details –I applied online and was contacted within the same week as they were actively looking for workers. I was hired as an office supply associate. During the interview, the manager asked me what I was studying and the number of hours I could work and I was hired.

Interview Question –How many hours can you work per week?

EasyTech Associate at Staples No Offer – Interview Santa Cruz, CAOct 2012– Review Oct 20, 2012

Interview Details –Was good interview an we got talking for about half an hour about various tech subjects. He did say that two other people where transferring but no idea about one and had two other interviews. I figure that they found somebody that was a better person for the job.

Called last week and they said that they would do call backs this week and i did not get a call back.

Interview Questions-•Sell Me A Computer.?, •What is RAM? •What is the CPU?

Copy Center Associate at Staples Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Waterloo, ON (Canada)– Interview Details –I applied in-store and got a call about three weeks later when they started hiring for back-to-school. The first interview was pretty basic. It was with one of the managers and he asked about my availability, previous work experience (especially in retail), behavioural questions, why I wanted to work there, whether I had any add-on selling experience (they're big on that there), etc. I got offered a second interview for the next day and it was with the copy and print center manager. This interview lasted quite a bit longer and he asked more situational type questions, why I would be a good fit for staples, good and bad experiences shopping in other stores, and how I have handled difficult customers before.

I didn't feel overly confident about the second interview, but they called me a few hours later and offered me the job, so I guess it went quite well.

Interview Question –Tell me about a good shopping experience you have had and what you liked about it / tell me about a bad shopping experience you have had and how you think that experience could have been improved? (I just described a good shopping experience that I have had and said I liked how the store was kept neat and tidy to look presentable, the merchandise was ordered in a logical fashion so that I could find what I was looking for, the sales associates were friendly and helpful in answering my questions, and the check-out process was smooth and quick. I also described a bad shopping experience and described how they could have improved in the above-mentioned points.)

Sales Associate at Staples Accepted Offer – Interviewed in New York,

Interview Details –I was hired fairly quickly after a day or so I put my application in I got a call for an interview. For the interview it was kinda scary. They brought me into the managers office which was kinda scary and dark. There she asked a few questions and already had papers for me to sign. Then she left and another manager came in and interview me as well. There were a few skills and intellect questions. But after everything was said and done I was hired.

Interview Question –If someone is looking suspicious at a particular item. What do you do? (Walk up and greet them, offering to help them find what their looking for),Why do you want to work for staples?

Did you make any large purchases in the past year that you later regretted and what did you do about it? Tell me about yourself?how I would explain my work ethic, what are my hobbies, how I would handle an angry customer and things like that?
