How can I help my friend?

I'm really worried for my friend. She seems to have a binging problem.

She has a difficult family situation. Her parents are divorced. Her dad drinks and her mom smokes. She rarely sees her dad. She has a horrible relationship with her mom.

Her mom told me last week that she ate 5 pounds of pasta in a day, in one serving. She can't stop eating. And it's showing. She won't admit she eats a lot.

I wanna help her so badly. I had anorexia last year for 5 months and I'm still suffering the consequences. I don't want her to fall any more deeply into the trap of eating disorders. They're horrible places to be.

How can I help her?

Hey there, this sounds like a tough situation to be in. I suggest you show your friend this website: http://rosecole.com/articles/overeating-and-bingin...

And explain to her that you don't want her to develop a disorder. Try and connect with her and figure out why she turns to food for comfort. Tell her you are there for her and when she needs comfort she can come to you. Hope I helped. Good luck!
