Fiction book about mary magdelene?

I read this book and i can't remember the name of it but i really enjoyed it and i know there were supposed to be sequels so hoping someone knows what it is. IT was about a woman who was apparently an heir of Mary and Jesus and she was on like a journey trying to figure stuff out and every chapter would include like actual passages from the Gospel. It was a good book hoping someone can help me it was written by a woman i remember that and it was kinda unclear on if it was a true story or not kinda left you guessing cause it seemed like it could be real. i remember her going to some city where people had visions or something i dunno but hopefully someone can help please!!!!
