car leaking gasoline out the exhaust pipe?
I have a 2000 Pontiac grand am,2.4 l.4 cyl engine.
well the car was running great until it blew the head gasket.
I got the head gasket replaced
when i started the car the huge cloud of white smoke from the gasket being blown was gone.also the rough idle .
but now there is another problem
now it is leaking raw fuel out of the exhaust pipe as well as small puffing clouds with a constant papapapapapapa puffing sound.
the check engine light also came on.
i purchases a scanner to get the code for the check engine light.
But the scanner shows no codes for that problem the only ones i got were for the chassis DTCs system which were.
c1215,c1221,c1236,c1246,c1257,c1265,c1262,c1278,c1276,c1275,c1286,
and a
U1016(loss of communication with engine control module).
please i need help figuring this out i have tried talking to several mechanics but they all say it is impossible for it to be gasoline.which is annoying since i am looking at it.
it smells like gasoline and it ignites like gasoline.
I am hoping someone can help me out and give me ideas to what it could be i am desperate at this point. following is a link to a video of what the car is doing

Those "Mechanics" don't know what they are talking about!
I have seen this condition before, and the problem was a (stuck open fuel injector)
I would recommend taking it back to who did the work because you have either an injector that is grounded on the on the pulse wire (Causing the injector to stay open when ever the engine is running) OR you have a fuel injector that is mechanically stuck open.
To Check:
a easy way to verify this problem is to perform a Fuel Pressure test, connect the fuel pressure gauge (Available at auto zone with a deposit)
Hook up the gauge to the fuel pressure test port and Start the engine and get it to idle,(testing it with the engine running will prevent the cylinder from filling up and causing a "Hydro-lock" condition.
Now look at the gauge, It should show 42 to 55 PSI pressure, not shut the engine off, the pressure should show 52 to 58 PSI and should HOLD pressure, so if the needle starts to drop and continues to drop, you have a leaking fuel injector.
You will have to pull the plugs to find out what cylinder it is because evidently the "CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor Variation Relearn was not performed, that is why you cant get a misfire code from the PCM (Powertrain Control Module)

I am not mechanic but I have some experience with engines. If raw (unburnt) gasoline is leaking from the exhaust it seems like that gas is not being burnt and then leaking back out of the cylinder through the exhaust valve. What could have happened is when they replaced the head gasket they did something to the spark plug or spark plug wires.
and a
U1016(loss of communication with engine control module)
Engine control module seems like to me that the engine is getting too rich of an air-fuel mix, particularly on the fuel side of things. If the cylinder is getting too much gas, the spark plug is going to be flooded and the gas will not burn properly if at all. That may explain what is happening.
Instead of talking to the mechanics, take them out to your car and show them what is happening. Make them confirm what is coming out of the tail pipe is gasoline, that way, they can start to trouble shoot.

As the last person said, the gas has not been burnt so you either have a bad plug boot, wire, spark plug or worst case a broken connecting arm which I doubt. A rough acceleration could also be a symptom of no spark
