Why Doesn't The U.S. Army Get Rid Of Those Blue Uniforms?

Other than being an assault on the eyes they make the enlisted men look like ushers and the officers resemble something from comic opera. In my humble opinion the World War Two era brown uniforms looked the best.Bring them back with Sam Brown belts mandatory for officers.

Well, they hearken back to the Army uniform of the old west. In any western, you would see the Cav riding to the rescue, and the blue uniform is reminiscent of those, We have had dress blues for eons, but the standard issue uniform changed to khaki and olive drab starting in the Spanish-American War, and it took us for ever to get back to our historical roots.

I agree that the World War II dress uniform was pretty sharp, but with the recent dropping of DADT, the term "pinks and greens" might smack of something not intended. For the current blue uniform, I feel it is incomplete without the ceremonial belt such as word by the Old Guard.

Of course, my opinion, and $3.00, will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

And and certain them contain acus even as u bypass although undemanding. also the gown uniforms replaced from vegetables to gown blues. There much better searching i imagine. And u requested why they replaced unifom. properly the precise equipment replaced into replaced as a results of pc because the better area of placed on and tear cuz berets receives warm and the lose structure even as it rains on them. Why do u ask? and that i'm hoping this helped any extra questions bout the military only ask.

  • when YOU will be in charge of Army, YOU will decide which dress uniform looks the best. until then, it's your personal opinion and you better suck it up.

having something DECENT in the inventory is a must as simply military -apart from fighting- is used for representation, too.

if you want to hear about TRULY ridiculous uniforms, google the Pakistani dress uniform. it includes chainmaille.

I know! I hated my blues, I would much rather go back to just greens. I mean the only acceptable place to wear olive drab anymore is in the Army. I've only had to wear them a handful of times, but I say let the Chair Force have exclusive rights to blue and just give me my greens back.

If you mean the ones the Old Guard wears at ceremonies, I like them.

Sounds like Alex M is one of those wussies who couldn't make it past the Marine recruiter.

I half agree, but not about bringing back the ww2 era ones. dress uniforms should be done away with all together (unless you're a marine... you guys need your parade image to avoid the chopping block). the military exists to fight and win wars, not look pretty.
