The race for #1 will be hotly contested this year. Currently, Novak Djokovic is in the first spot with Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal in a feverish pursuit of championship titles and ranking points.
The WTA Tour sees Victoria Azarenka with a very slight lead over Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams. They all have played so well at different points during the year that it is a real toss up as to who will come out Number 1 by year's end.
So to answer your question, the big winner in 2013 is us, THE FANS!
