Does anyone know a good book to read?

I need to read a book for school. I'm looking for a book that is either about mental health issues (like self harm, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder...), or something involving lesbians but not completely about them if that's understandable? also, it can't be extremely long or really short

Oranges are not the only fruit by Jeanette Winterson is the obvious choice regarding lesbians, great story. Or maybe try The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath - I found it really good but quite harrowing in places. She had huge mental health issues> The best one I can think of that combines both is Girl, interrupted by Susanna Kaysen.
