How to word the meaning of interval in science?

i know what interval mean in science but i just cant seem to word it properly, I cant put it into words

i tried and i got this: the number of turns you do before taking a reading?? does that make sense? if not how can i word it?

oh and im in KS3 not taking a degree in science or something

    In science you would say an interval is:

    The length of time between taking readings

    It is a set of numbers consisting of all the numbers between a pair of given numbers but not including the endpoints.
