What is my Cockatiel doing?

I notice that every once in a while my cockatiel spreads his feathers from about half way down his belly to under him where we can't see. He spreads them outwards ,so it looks like a canyon, in a straight line. Why does he do that?

Your cockatiel is stretching. He will stretch just like humans do. It also positions the feathers in the correct spot. This will feel good to him. Nothing to worry about:)

He's just stretching, they'll also do that with their wings and their feet, they enjoy it and there's nothing to be worried about :)
