I have a Recovery Drive # D..I can't seem to clear It.?

I have a Dell w/AMD Athlon 64 X2 Duel Core Processor 4000+ 210 Ghz-2.00 GB 32 bit Op System. The recovery drive D is full and the PC lets me know every 5 minutes no matter WHAT I'm Doing. It over rides whatever I may be doing. I tried investigating. I do have every thing on separate disc's. the thing I came up with was erase this drive. My burning question is this: Will It have any adverse reaction or effect my main drive E? When I hit that option the very ominous flag comes up "Are you sure you want to do that?(of course I'm paraphrasing right now-but you get the gist,I hope)

The recovery drive is for use to reinstall the operating system putting your Dell back to factory it should not be remove, changed, files added or modified if you do you can never reinstall the recovery partition/drive D.

You should create the recovery disc set for your Dell laptop in case the hard drive ever fails or the built in recovery does not work.

Drive c is usually the main hard drive partition with E or D being the optical drive or the recovery partition.

From my experience, the Recovery Drive is a utility for your computer, pretty much useless and you will never use it, and can be deleted without any effect on your computer other than freeing up more drive space.

drives EFGHIJ and so on are mass storage drives for plug in usbs and so on, as long as its not your cd rom drive, best to click highlight your D and right click properties then you will know and if it holds nothing delete it.
