Does the deficit really matter? If it does, why isn't anyone doing something about it?
Everybody keeps blaming somebody else, but no one does anything! Democrats say the Republicans are to blame, but they never come up with a viable alternative. Republicans come up with a plan, but it is rejected by the democrats. Obamas plans get rejected by both sides. The only ideas floated around are cuts to military and discretionary spending. Nobody seems to want to tackle the fraud and wasteful spending. It seems like ALL politicians want to do is pad their pockets by satisfying certain groups so they can ensure themselves a lifelong term in office. Heck! They don't even read the bills they vote on! It seems as if all of them are in it for the money. NOT for the country. So if the deficit matters, why do we all sit around talking about it but do nothing to solve the problem? It sounds to me like a giant talking point from both sides of the isle just to give people something to bit'ch about and point fingers!

YES it matters: For some reason they want to drive the USA into bankruptcy and at this point I don't see why. What they are doing is the same thing Greece did and you see the results of that.
We the people have elected these folks so the majority of us must want what is happening -
I didn't vote for them but what can one person do anyway when the majority elect these type of folks..
They threaten to cut Social Security benefits while they ask for 32 million (more) to train troops in Mali..
Taxes are higher than ever & they still line their own pockets and tell us everything is ok when it obviously isn't ...
The only reason we don't have soup kitchens to feed the poor is because of food stamps.. America is in crisis & it is the public's fault for keeping on electing these folks..
@ getting the ocean liner going - you have to be going in the right direction first off & second borrowing more money is never the answer to getting out of debt..

Deficits don't count number.......................... in a wartime financial gadget. it incredibly is humorous how the final 0.5 of that quote is often ignored. nonetheless, deficits do count number. we choose a surplus, and final time that exceeded off Newt became in fee.

Do you know how much distance that it takes to bring a great ocean liner up to
speed, when it has slowed down? It's dozens of miles.
An economy is like that. Bush/Cheney did so much harm that it may be 2020
before things can be brought back to normal.
