What is the best brand/type of record player?

I am looking to buy someone a used record player (turntable), but I know nothing about them. Where would you recommend buying it and what brand? Also, do all turntables play the same type of records?

Keeping this relatively cheap would be excellent as well :)

Thanks!

What you mostly play on record players are 33s they have 5 songs on each side and play on every record player made after the 1950s. Then there are 45s that usually hold 1 song on each side and almost all record players play them. Then there are 78s these were made before the 1960s and only some record players play them.

There are also 16s and a lot of other speeds but they are extremely rare.

To buy a record player you need to buy one online dont go to wallmart or a record store they will only have crosley record players which are made of plastic and cheap wood to look retro and have cassete players, cd players, and radios, so they dont put that much work into the record player they have these at every store because they look retro and people who dont know about record players buy them.
