Why are there so many racist kids today?
Don't they know it's illegal which would send them to Youth detention centre (juvy). We've all seen American History X at what happens to kids and adults even when they're racist towards others.
American History X is about a man who's racist and gets send to prison for killing a black man and comes out a better man and makes life better for himself... or so he thought.

How can people learn to disregard prejudices based on race, appearance, or social status?
Do you think people make judgments too quickly based on someone’s race, appearance or social status? Is it possible for someone to put aside these snap judgments and be truly without prejudice?

I believe it is possible to over come feelings resentment based on race, appearance or social Status and it is easier than most people believe it is.
It starts by spending the time to learn something about the person's difference and then finding some thing in that difference that delights you.
By learning about the difference, finding some part (even if it is very small) that you appreciate or enjoy you can begin to see the person in a different light .
Over time you will become less likely to lump people into big groups because you will notice that people with differences are different from each other and the former gross generalizations you once though we racial or social will disappear.

We always seem to need some section of society to hate. In England, we started off with the Jews in the early 1900s, then, when the West Indians came, invited to fill jobs we didn't want, we hated them. Now we are Islamaphobes, despite the fact that we all know lots of muslims who are good, industrious people, adding to our multicultural society. All racism.
People get disappointed with life and need someone to blame. Can't possibly be their fault - that they have not worked hard enough.

Haven't seen American History X but I thought it was inspirational for racists (at least in part) or am I wrong?
Edit: No point voting me down, I've worked with racists and they were sometimes talking about American History X, and certain scenes which they liked, and those scenes did not really make me want to watch the movie.

Apparently they were raised that way. Babies are not born racist....someone mentally ill has to teach them that. No. ...probably not.
