Understanding ? ONLY If you are benabled by The Holy Spirit,
You see, even if you memorized the Bible from Gen to Rev. You still would not be able to understand it, 1 st Cor. 2:14 explains that
To an unbeliever ? it will all seem like foolishness

Folks that invented God have placed Him beyond understanding. The concept of God is not open to scientific enquiry, no longer even to those who rationale He exists. God just isn't even a hypothesis in the scientific meaning of the word, seeing that there is not any proof for God within the natural world. On the contrary, for the apparent problematic design of all dwelling matters there is evidence that these were created by typical forces, now not via God. For this reason the purpose why God was invented has been replaced by means of evolution by common decision, and human purpose can't apprehend God.

I would suggest that human reason can apprehend gods because human brains invented them. Every god which ever emerges always does so sharing the values of the culture it emerged amongst and usually commands some change to the status quo which part of that culture desires.

Aquinas would suggest that the idea of God can be apprehended through reason. All five of his "proofs" (philosophical arguments which suggest a God MAY exist) are Deistic and can be grasped by the intellect. This assent of the intellect is reasonable, but not brought about by physical evidences, rather philosophical arguments.
Now faith is another matter, while not necessarily in conflict with reason, it must be revealed knowledge. What does this mean? It means that the idea of God can be argued and accepted through reason alone, but specific notions of God's nature (specifically things like the Christian God being three divine beings in one divine nature) must rely on revelation. They must be revealed truths.

Theology of St Augustine on God the Holy Trinity:
Book 1 http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/130101.htm
Chapter 1.— This Work is Written Against Those Who Sophistically Assail the Faith of the Trinity, Through Misuse of Reason. They Who Dispute Concerning God Err from a Threefold Cause. Holy Scripture, Removing What is False, Leads Us on by Degrees to Things Divine. What True Immortality is. We are Nourished by Faith, that We May Be Enabled to Apprehend Things Divine.
1. Was written to guard against sophistries of those who disdain to begin with faith, and are deceived by a crude and perverse love of reason.
a. Who frame their thoughts of God accdg to things incorporeal
b. Those who do so accdg to spiritual creature [e.g. soul]
c.Of those who neither regard the body nor the spiritual creature and yet think falsely about God.
d. Of so much further from the truth, that nothing can be found answering to to their conceptions, either in body or in made or created spirit or the Creator himself.
e.g. For he who thinks for instance that God is white or red, is in error and yet this things are found in the body.
He who thinks of God as now forgetting and now remembering, or anything of same kind, is none the less in error, and yet these things are found in the mind.
He who thinks that God is of such power as to have generated Himself, is so MUCH the more in error, because not only does God not so exist, but neither does the spiritual nor bodily creature; for there is nothing whatever that generates its own existence
Take the challenge.

I'm not too sure about your use of the word, 'apprehend' and my understanding is that it meant 'to catch' so I suppose you're in the right general territory but apart from that I would recommend that you get a sensible jawb as you clearly have too much time on your hands and you start thinking silly thoughts like this.

As much as an African, who has never experienced fever, apprehend what to feel cold is.

Human reason can understand that gods are made up, that there are no gods. Apart from that there is nothing to understand about gods.

we can comprehend certain things about a god... it's like asking can a baby comprehend the actions of adults we are ignorant to the ways of gods because we have never encountered one so we can only guess
