Should the quote be changed into "liberty and justice for SOME"? Instead of for ALL.?

THe rich and powerful are able to get away with murder or in this case supporting for murder. Just like what HSBC did. The money they were fined with was something that they could earn back in one month.

Reminds me of the book by, George Orwell, called Animal Farm, when the pigs changed the rules from,"All animals are equal" to "some animals are more equal than others."

Rather than change the quote, I opt to change the system to better reflect the quote.

Both Dem and Rep are working together. They are complementary parties that take turns, but both are sell-outs to the super rich. I'm not saying a citizen who calls himself a Dem or Rep is part of any conspiracy. The citizens who self identify with a party are the sheeple. They're nothing more than cheerleaders and fans rooting like they would for a football team. When the team wins, they feel like they win. It's addictive like any other social game.

The only way to eliminate the corruption is to replace the corrupt with honest patriots. And I don't mean Tea party. I'm talking about true libertarians. Heck, even Green party is better than the Dem/Rep bifurcation. It just happens that the Libertarian party has more name recognition. We need to unite everyone who is disgusted with both Dem/Rep parties to elect all true libertarian candidates in the next 4 years. And if anyone really wants bigger government or religious based laws, then make it happen at the local county level. We must decentralize the Federal government to pre-Lincoln days if we are ever going to get "liberty and justice for All" back.

@ tagboy: Lincoln was the biggest hypocrite! He suspended Habeus Corpus and executed citizens without a trial, among many other things that directly violated the Constitution, then justified it all by claiming he was doing it to uphold the Constitution. Liar and a hypocrite. He was a power hungry tyrant. States had every right to leave the union. Marriage vows are often "until death do us part" yet people are allowed to obtain a divorce without killing one or the other. Lincoln was that possessive lover that declared "no one else will have you! I'll destroy you before I allow you to be happy with someone else!"

Hong Kong Shanghai Bancorp participated in drug trafficing and terrorism for two decades. When they finally got caught, they blamed weak internal controls for the crimes.

This is equivalent to Charles Manson blaming gravity for the stabbing murders he committed.

I don't see how Americans voted for Obama for re-election, knowing that Eric Holder:

    1. Approved the sale of assault rifles to Mexican drug runners. And

    2. Gave HSBC a pass on twenty years of supporting terrorists and drug cartels.

    It just doesn't make sense.

Do you live in the US? If you do you should be aware there is no legitimate justice system. Arbitrary enforcement is the rule of the day. The worst place you can find yourself is walking past a crime scene when the DA is in a tight race to keep his/her job. Dude, you are toast. Manufactured evidence, hidden evidence, incompetence - all part of our "justice" system.

If you are very rich, you can afford to fight the machine. If not, good luck.

It's been this way for quite some time. Look what happened to all those men who were promised 30 acres and a mule at the end of the revolutionary war. Sorry guys, but we can only let this land go to those with money to pay for it. We got bill to pay don't ya know.

Nobody died from Watergate. Nixon had to resign over it.

One person died from Chappaquiddick. Ted Kennedy continued as the most powerful senator until he died from natural causes 40 years later.

4 Americans died at Benghazi. But Hillary Clinton pounded her fists on the table and shrieked, and liberals want her to be the next president.

Hundreds of people died from Fast and Furious guns. But Obama invoked executive privilege and obstructed justice.

    Liberty and justice for who?

    For wealthy and powerful DEMOCRATS.

    Lincoln said

When the Know-Nothings get control, it [the Declaration of Independence] will read: "All men are created equal except negroes, foreigners and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretense of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy.
