how can copper be colored throughout .not just patins?

Are there substances able to be added to copper at the refining stage to change the color of it throughout the metal, such as gray, red, purple, etc

Well, yes! The commonest ones are zinc or tin which take the overall colour more to the golden yellow end of the colour spectrum.

However IDK anything that will take it to purple.
