How to make friends in a new high school?!?

I need help! I just started going to a new high school, in the middle of the semester and I am a junior. It's been 3 days and everyone is very nice but I don't know how to make real friends. Im so used to having the same friends for the past 7 years, I don't know what to do!

In all my classes, no one sits near me that isnt a guy. So please please please tell me what to say or do?! I'm really awkward and shy at first so this has been very difficult for me. I have no idea what to do for lunch, I don't want to sit alone

    Simple, be yiurself and be social thats pretty much it

    In sports class, make jokes.. and this how it will be easy.
