How would you make the girl name Psyche more usable?
Please note what the question is and what it is not. I am asking how you would make the girl name Psyche more usable, not "Do you think the girl name Psyche is usable?" and not "Would the name Psyche garner teasing?" Please simply answer the question at hand, then, if you must, you may add in your two cents. Thank you. That is all.

As it stands, all I can envision is tremendous bullying by calling her a nut job.
Psyche means "the soul" and comes from the Greek meaning "to breathe".
Consider one of the cognates:
SOUL
Alma - Spanish
Enid - Welsh
Janan - Arabic
BREATHE
Eve - Biblical

I don't know if it can be rescued. I'd probably just leave it in its original form, because it could always be combatted against nay-sayers by referring to the myth. Any attempts to morph it may make it more unrecognizable and weird.

I would make it more usable by using it on a pet or videogame character, not a real baby...

I wouldn't. It's turned into a part of the language rather than a name. I'd pick something else.

maybe try something that just has similar sounds like Sakaye, Sekai, Sequoia, Sukie
or you could name a boy Zachary and call him Zakky
