Emancipation in Indiana?

Just found out that my son who is 17 is going to be a father. Does getting him emancipated make him more eligible for public assistance?

He can't be on any kind of government aid and has to have a job making enough to support himself (rent, utilities, transportation, food, clothing, insurance, health care and any other expenses) while being on track to graduate from school. So no, he can't emancipate just to get on public assistance. He is just going to have to get out and get a job to support his child. If him and the mother get married, they might be able to get some assistance, but her parents will have to be on board with her getting married if she is under 18.
