The last time I got my period it was heavier than usual and I had really had cramps. I was throwing up and was sick for days during this time. This time it has been a little lighter than last time but I still have really bad cramps. Does anyone else have this happen? I am 14 and this is about the third year I have had my period. What have you done to deal with this pain? I know you can go on he pill to make it lighter and regular or you can go on it to make it stop completely. Last one I had my period the cramping was really bad for days and I just wanted to die! I don't want I keep living my life with extreme cramps and heavy bleeding during my period and being bed ridden like i was las time the while 7 days. I just want it to all go away meaning my period to stop. I cant do anything when i have it. i usually stay home which means i miss karate and school and other stuff! Can anyone help me??

Awww. I don't have it that bad. Do pain killers help at all? If they don't, I suggest you talk to your mom and doctor about going on the pill. That won't stop it, but chances are it'll get better.

I have medical conditions that cause me severe pain and illness when I'm on my period. I've dealt with it for over a decade. So to try and answer all of your questions; there are pain meds you can buy at any store (Meijer, walmart, target, and any drug store like walgreens) usually you'll see pamprin, midol, all these work for cramps if yours are "typical". Also, using a heating pad on your lower stomach will help your muscles relax. You get cramps from your muscles tightening and tensing, sending them into a spiral of pain for you. I could barely eat crackers and water, but I would suggest those when you're feeling nauseous. Drink plenty of water to get those muscles to relax too. Birth control pills can help your period be more regular, but talk to your doctor about that to find out what would work for you, or maybe they're not for you. Having one be heavy, and the next light is normal for most women. Also try tampons, where you won't have to so much deal with yucky pads, and tampons won't disrupt your karate.
