Our generation knows barely any good music, don't you think?
I just asked a question, if kids/teens between the age of 12-15 knew who Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, John Deacon, and Brian May were. Most of them said they haven't got a clue, and even some lady who said that she was a grandmother, said that she didn't know. They are members of the epic band Queen! Arg! I hate how kids/teens today, have no idea who these awesome singers/musicians/bands were! All kids & teens listen to these days is pretty mcuh all cr@p "music". I wish kids & teens today knew who bands like Queen were, so that they would actually listen to GOOD music. I'm 13, and Queen is my favourite band! What do you think about this/ Do you think that teens & kids today don't know what good and real music is? Or something else? :)

A lot of kids do know what good music is. Yes, there are kids that listen to sucky "music," but it's like that in every generation. I know what you're saying about the older bands/songs are what you would consider "good music," but there is a lot of good music in today's generation as well. I'm 16 years old. All of my friends know who Queen is. In fact, we're all obsessed with Queen. I'm a musician, my friends are musicians, half my school are musicians, (2000 kids at my school) and we know what good music is. All you hear about is the kids who listen to pop and rap and such, but in reality, there are more teens and kids who know better than you would think.

Well I Came To The Right Question Because I LOVE OLDER MUSIC, It's Much Fun Listening To Older Songs, I Listen To Hall & Oates, REO Speedwagon, The Bee Gees, Barry Manilow, Air Supply, And Many More. Anyone Who Likes Today's Music Can Go Screw Themselves

It's true. But at the same time, you seem to be under the impression that you need to go back a quarter of a century to find good music.
Who is missing out the most - the people who ignore great music from the past or the people who refuse to look beyond the charts for great music from the present?

i just answered that question and yes i do think music today is messed up. BUT thats what people say every generation. It does annoy me that today all songs talk about.. for example rap.. is just about sex and girls and drugs and money. f*ck that. Like three of my friends know queen but i doubt they even really listen to them.
One of the things i absolutly HATE is when people my age go to school and wear a Rolling Stones shirt BUT DONT EVEN KNOW THEM. wtf is that!!?? I wanna slap them on the face!

I been seeing an awful lot of Dead Heads lately. So, I suppose it depends on the individual. You mean in the mainstream of today and what's "pop". Yeah, Nicky Minaj and Chris Brown, they suck.

I have to admit some to most of my generation listen to shitty music though i know many people who listen to good music like the rolling stones, cream, and many other tasteful bands. I like some of those bands myself but i always used to go over with my older brother to his friends houses and listen to grunge, punk, and alternative music so that is the type of music i grew up listing to so I always had an affinity to those types of bands more then others.
