Australian Politics... anyone think it's just a coincidence that the PM called an?

As part of the deal with independents she had to call an election in September or October and there are very few possible dates. Its no spurise

Perhaps NSW police were instructed to arrest Thomson today to sabotage the election announcement....certainly there is something very corrupt in NSW politics when the media are told in advance of the arrest and given a copy of the charges, whilst they would not provide them to Thomsons lawyer

It looks like Ms. Gillard bet on the wrong horse. She's been defending Thomson all along, probably to save the image of the ALP. Once you lie in the bed, it's tough to get out.

She sent him to the crossbench awhile back, but it appears that may not be enough to shake the feeling of coziness between the two.

Perhaps the PM excels in other areas, but opposing parties will always search for the dirty laundry.

Were the positions reversed, the same crap would happen, just in the other direction.
