Is my French teacher a Bully?

I'm in college and i am studying french

My french teacher has split the class up into 2 diferent groups

The people in the front row are all struggling a little with french

and the back row are actually pretty good at french

I tried sitting in the back row today and i was told to move to the front

In a polite manner i asked why i had to sit in the fron (I'm 20 years of age btw so i would've thought assigned seating redundant following secondary school)

My teacher replied ''don't be stupid''

during each class whenever I am asked a question

I panic and lose concentration because i'm terrified of him

When i fail to give the correct response he humilates me in front of the rest of the class and they all start laughing at me.however when any of his good students answer and they get it wrong he really does his best to help them

as well as this whenever I do anything like rest my head on my hand or scratch my face he will always throw a smart quip at me like ''back to planet earth'' ''Please inject yourself with something and wake up'' even though i am paying full concentration to what he is saying and am looking at him

Sometimes he tells us to take notes and when we take notes he tells us to stop and pay attention to him and what he is doing.

I'm just so confused because for the first 7 months of college i thought i was always just the problem

But after an event which happened today I really believe maybe he isn't being fair to us

I am afraid to enter his class because i really do feel my own self worth decreasing

as well as that he keeps telling me i'm going to fail and that i 'm no good at french

Which is a perfectly fine opinion to have because i'm not great but he is so mean in telling me constantly everyday

Please help Because i'm think about reporting him to the head of the french dept in the college and i really want to get into a different french class
