Answers violating Yahoo community guidelines?

Is anyone fed up with good answers being deleted for apparently violating community guidelines? Recently I have had loads deleted. For example: Can't remember exact question but something like "what is EBITD and EBIT?" My answer: "They are just different ways of expressing earnings EBITDA is Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation. It is basically trying to express the basic earnings of the business. EBIT is obvious. While looking at balance shaeets, P&L etc. you need to look at all the figures and see whether they are a true reflection of the business and adjust them accordingly"

Then quoted link to my website: http://www.shareworld.co.uk/index.php/articles/get... to give a bit more detail about co. accounts and how they should be interpreted.

According to the guidelines " Yahoo! Answers is a place to gain knowledge, not customers, page views, or dates. If you have years of experience in something, have a special hobby, own your own business, or if you are a knowledge partner, it's OK to accompany a good, on-topic answer with a link to your website

Yea, I'm beyond fed up. And don't contest it. You'll only lose an another ten points for questioning the report and will never receive a decision, so will never know if you win or lost. Since I don't think you can win, I just assume I lost.

No. Accounts are only deleted here after staff review (staff decides if you violated guidelines and deserve suspension, you dont) , so apparently it was not for no reason but rather because you dont know the guidelines (and/or TOS). Sounds like you possibly had multiple accounts (a TOS violation) and perhaps are not yet 13 (also a TOS violation). Well, those who report you have proven to be reliable. You, on the other hand, have not..that is why posts that you report remain posted. Generally speaking, one familiar with the guidelines does NOT start chatting in additional details.

I can't see any problem with your answer in itself.

However, you do need to be a bit cautious with personal/business links 1) to make sure that the link *specifically* relates to the question, and 2) Y!A aren't keen on monetised sites.

The page you cited seems extremely general in its scope: no reference to the EBITD and EBIT asked about.

I see no violation and would suggestan appeal asking about adding the website as from what you write it sounds within the rules,

The site seems to be acceptable

The problem likely was your link to your own site. The PREFERRED method for handling that type of posting is to put the link on your YA profile page, in the "About Me" section. Then, in your answer, you can say to click your avatar to find a link for more information.

If you think you were reported incorrectly, contest it. Your answer goes back and the reporter loses credibility.
