World war II experts :D?

My book takes place in world war II and i am really wondering how to start it. My character is Russian and I want the scene to happen at some party. And i really don't know if actually was the right time to party and stuff.

Also is it better if start is depressing or is it better if it's bright so you can keep the whole bright thoughts?

If your Russian character was partying before the Russians were aware that Hitler would turn on them, it makes sense.

Are you severe??? this might't be for a Ph.D thesis!!! All baloney! the only shelling on American soil occurred while a sole eastern sub lobbed a number of torpedoes onto an Oregon coastline. extremely! we would all be speaking eastern, if what you're saying had got here approximately! Ever hear on the subject of the 1st 2 atomic bombings of cities? Hiroshima and Nagasaki, on August 6th and ninth, l945.. the eastern Emperor at contemporary surrendered. i think of that widespread Douglas MacArthur many times going on the Emperor's sword--yet perhaps my memory is fautly.

Begin by starting deppressing, definately. Also - look for this stuff on the internet (yes I realise this is the internet but not here) where it's all already written - it will also be more reliable.
