What is the catch with the weedman student marketing job?

There is a job that "Weedman" is advertising everywhere which I find too good to be true. They will apparently pay students $14/h to knock on doors selling their service and the manager said "they are always hiring" and they always seem to be. They claim this is not a commission wage either. How can this be? That's an incredible wage for a employer leaning job market. Whenever an employer has to advertise a job paying that much I get suspicious. So what's the catch?

The catch is that the job sucks. I've did the door to door thing, and I made some money, but you'll soon realize that it really sucks. In your mind, your thinking, its easy.... I'm knocking on doors, meeting smiling families, etc. I didn't do weed man specifically, but what you find is... well... Imagine this scenario.

Your car is dead and all you need is a jump. Your at the mall parking lot, so there are lots of people around. You ask people if they have cables, and they do, but they aren't willing to let you use them. This goes on for hours and finally you find a nice person, who gives you a bottle of water, cause you look thirsty, but they don't have jumper cables. You'll meet hundreds of people, yet you'll feel extremely lonely...

That's why there always hiring. Most people would gladly accept working for a few dollars less in air conditioning where every person you meet isn't actually trying to get rid of you. If you got a thick skin go for it. As much as I hated my experience, I definitely learned a lot from the experience and a small part of me is glad I did it.
