Each water inlet valve for the hot and cold sides is controlled by a solenoid that is opened or closed based on the temp setting and powered up from the main timer. The cold/cold cycle and warm/warm cycle will still add water to the machine but it may be just cold water since only that side of water entry is working although the warm/cold cycle should work or add water as well.

If you set the controls to hot/cold cycle and the machine does not dispense any water, then I suspect the hot water inlet valve solenoid is bad ...or the inlet screen is clogged with debris which you state you already checked. It could also be a bad main timer which is not powering up the hot water solenoid to open...you would have to test for power at the hot water inlet solenoid when the cycle is set to dispense hot or warm water. My guess is a bad hot water inlet solenoid though as long as the warm/cold cycle does work along with the others. If only cold/cold and warm/warm work but not warm/cold or hot/cold, then you may have a bad timer....the warm/cold cycle should still allow for cold water to fill the machine in the starting cycle if the timer is OK.

You can replace the inlet valve/solenoid if that is the problem or manually add hot water to the machine as needed with a hose from the washtub spigot (if you have one close by), use the existing hot water hose to the machine and just open /close the shutoff valve for the hose or use a bucket filled with hot water from a nearby faucet as a temporary measure.

Call some local appliance parts stores to check for a price on the inlet valve assembly or these websites below ...recheck your model number...it appears to be missing some letters/numbers at the end.

Inlet valve assembly with solenoids looks something like this...comes with both hot and cold inlets...runs about 20.00

Edit: With the additional info, I would say it is a bad main timer which is not opening the hot water fill valve solenoid during the various cycles to allow hot water to fill at times. Since you are getting warm water during some warm cycles, then the solenoid is not bad...it's properly mixing cold and hot water to make warm water. Sorry if I misunderstood your initial explanation as to some cycles working properly. As a final test, turn off the shutoff valve for the cold water supply hose and run the machine in the various cycles for warm or hot water ...if it does dispense hot water during some of the start cycles but not others, then the timer is bad...not opening the solenoid valve. If it does not dispense any hot water, then the solenoid could also be the problem...would have to test for power at the solenoid. If it is getting power, then try a new solenoid.

The washer has a bad inlet valve. A new one costs between $20 and $40 usually. It's an electric controlled valve.
