Yes, although it does matter where you are in the game, I would stay away from thieves guild or just Riften altogether. Otherwise, I would probably let him watch me kill draugrs or something without too much gore.

As far as the more "Mature" games go, Skyrim is pretty tame. If he's into video games I would let him. Just watch his reactions for the first 30 minutes to an hour and see how it's gauging it, there is a lot of action at the begining of the game and that should be able to tell you if he can take it or not.

While I don't think its necessarily inappropriate, there really is no such thing as a "extrememly mature 10 year old" He's still only 10. He can't drink, have a job, etc so I'd play something more age appropriate. Or just monitor how he plays it. Certainly he can free roam the countryside and enjoy the gorgeous graphics. But I wouldnt leave him alone to the game.

Don't Let Him Do any "Daedric Quest" Especially the following;
Taste of Death (Cannibalism)
House of Horrors (Maiming and Killing and unarmed victim)
Boethiahs Calling (Lyig to and Sacrificing an unwary Follower)
Additionally: I would steer clear of the Dark Brotherhood (it started a whole line of questions when Skyrim came out with my 13 year old son who played)

My opinion of Skyrim is that it doesn't contain anything that average cartoons don't already have. I would say a mature 10 year old could handle Skyrim just fine.

In the first scene it shows a man getting his head cut off... I would watch it with him for a little bit. My neice just turned 10 and she saw me playing it once and she got freaked out when a dragon started to attack...so I would just watch him for a bit.

skyrim is good , except there are two head cutting scenes in it that might be a bit disturbing .
the game has no sexual contact . but there are some adult mods for it but you shouldn't let the kid download and install them .

I played Skyrim when I was 10, and was playing Oblivion at like 5 or 6.
In my opinion it's absolutely fine nothing that bad only gore that's all.

Yeah why not, if he is not easily frightened and not shocked by violence then sure.
You should probably ask his parents first though.
