I still cannot understand Yahoo policy?

I have asked this before: what are Yahoo playing at? This answer was deleted and appeal rejected (spam).Question was asking how a convertible preference could affect financial ratios.Answer "It could hypothetically affect some financial ratios. The conversion rights should be taken into account in the accounts (to give fully diluted figures)."

The link was about diluted earnings: http://www.shareworld.co.uk/index.php/glossary/Dil...

Violation Reason: Spam

Go to the Yahoo! Answers Appeals Board:

Does anyone understand their philosophy of denying viewers good answers?

Update:

Makes sense Peter. But most websites have some adverts on (maybe not Wikipedia!) and a link to your own site is allowed if the link contains more information relevant to the subject matter.

Update 2:

HOORAH!

Hi Raysor,

Thank you for taking the time to submit an appeal. Upon review, we found the following answer was not in violation of the Answers Community Guidelines:

"You need to find out if the certificate is still valid. The company may have gone bust, changed its name or been taken over. You need to search the internet for clues. Then the company registrars may be helpful. If ut is UK try this site (if it doesn't get deleted for spam (LOL)) http://www.shareworld.co.uk/index.php/resources/co...

The Yahoo! Answers Team regrets that your answer was wrongfully reported by the Answers community. Your answer has been reposted to Yahoo! Answers, and the 10 points we deducted have been restored to your account. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

As a result of your appeal, the people who reported your answer will have less influence when reporting abuse in the future.

What you have to do in a case like that is to copy and paste what you want people to see. You are being reported because of the Penny Stock and other ads at the link you are providing. Those make it a commercial site and those will be considered often as spam on YA. That is not that the violation is correct, but to avoid violations, do the copy and paste.
