Older foreigners in Phil?

It's really pitiful for those young girls having a husband more than half of their age. I saw 2 of these ladies when I was touring over there. She must be 19 and he must be 70+

speaking from here in Thailand - I have heard these complaints from young backpackers abt older men and younger ladies - - what they often fail to realize is that many of the ladies look much younger than they actually are - - and that many of the ladies have had bad marriages and were left w/kids and no support - so, having an older, richer and more considerate husband is quite a sought after trait in a husband. Here, they are in demand - so many ladies say in their 30s would love to have a considerate 50-60 yr old man. They have few prospects. And here, age and appearance take a major backseat to kindess and good heart.

The lady for having a husband who maybe can fulfill her dreams of going to the US, acquire a green card and become an American Citizen, besides the fact that she has married someone who can feed her family and the whole can. He is old, he will die soon anyways, no big deal..

The Dirty White Old Foreign man, for having a wife, a lover, a daughter, a granddaughter, and a slave - who will be willing to wash his As$. Back home he will be dumped in a home for the aged by his own relatives.

So, its technically a win-win situation for both.

Similiar questions have been asked countless times previously. Whose business is it and why should anybody care as long as the couple meet the legal requirements? Big deal if the guys is 25 to 30 years older than his wife. Marriages/unions between older men and younger women have been around since the beginning of time and certainly will not change in modern times.

The few foreign "old white males" that you saw, whether or not married to Filipino women, unfairly tarnish the image of Philippine women and the country as a whole and negate the fact that that group of people you referred to is a minute part of the hordes of foreign males of all races that are in the country for reasons other than pairing up with local women. And need I say those old white males are mostly Americans and Australians?

So what? What's the problem if they both get what they need, and are happy with each other? I personally have no problem with that, and would never judge a young woman for being with an older guy. I see plenty of young women all over the place with young losers all the time, especially in the USA and Australia. Each their own. If I were 65 and could find a nice woman half my age who would happily take care of me and vice versa, I'd be happy. And so should you. And if I were a 20 year old Filipina, I'd rather be with an older guy who will treat me respectfully and gently than with a 20-year old unemployed loser who will beat on me, get drunk with his buddies instead of taking care of his family, and cheat on me with cheap sluts. And personally, after reading your question, I feel really sorry for your girlfriend. I think she should get married with a 70-year old guy.

Younger foreigners are still working & earning a living. They are not allowed to work here.

Older foreigners come here to retire. They have already put in a life time of work.
