as someone working in HR, if you are fired with cause, it disqualifies you from UE. you can apply all you want but you wont get it...making mistakes (especially documentation) is a serious offense when you are employed.... you i can tell you that you wont qualify.

It depends on what you were fired for.
From what I gather, most employers will not contest unemployment when an employee is fired, because usually the employer already knows that he or she will not be granted benefits from the state anyway. Especially for things like documentation, or even if the employee was fired for absenteeism or tardiness...

If you were fired for cause, then no you cannot collect unemployment. If you were let go because the company couldn't afford to keep you on as an employee, then you could.
If you're not sure, you can go ahead and apply for it and see what they say. It doesn't cost anything to apply.
I wouldn't spend too much time on it though. That time would be better spent going out and getting another job.

Yes you can apply, but if they have documented write ups and paperwork, the chances of you getting it are far lower.
Edit- Even if you were fired "for cause", the employer will still have to show they kept some kind of documentation of your actions.

No.
Unemployment is only if you have been laid off due to no fault of your own (i.e. because of outsourcing, new technology, employer goes out of business or closes your branch/plant, lack of work that needs to be done, etc.).
If you are fired for cause or quit then you are not eligible for unemployment. You were fired for cause.

Usually, unless you were fired for misconduct, you should be eligible for unemployment benefits. If you were fired due to lacking job skills, failing to perform to standards, then you will most likely be eligible for benefits. If you are denied, you can always appeal the the denial.
