Period help pleaseeeeeeeee?!?

ok so 2 weeks ago i had light brown discharge which was quite strange for me. I hadn't had sex before the brown discharge and now my period is a week late. Does this discharge have anything to do with my period being late?

Update:

I had sex pretty much a day after the discharge stopped and it was protected (we checked if the condom broke and everything) and im not on bc pills

    If you are taking bc pills it could be due to that. Change the type and see.
