I want to make a ribbon chandelier, can you help me find what I am looking for? photo included?

I want to place the ribbon chandelier around poles and have the ribbons hanging down to cover the poles. The only thing is I can't find hoops that detach so I can fit them around the poles.

Can you give me some tips on finding the right product(detachable hoops, rings) that would work, or any ideas you have would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Update:

Reply - Jenna, this is to hang myself, thanks. Who has less of a life though, a person wanting to make something for an event, or a person commenting on someone making something?

Check out your local thrift store/grandma's attic for embroidery hoops. The outer ring has a screw that allows it to accept different fabric thickness, but most importantly, you can undo the screw and take it apart and then screw it back together. The inner ring is solid, but you could use a small hacksaw to cut a slit in the ring so you can get it around the poles. IF you find enough hoops, you won't even have to mess with the inner rings-- strategically placed ribbons can hide the cut.

Other options might be dryer hose clamps (plastic), duct work clamps (metal), quilter's clips (if the pole is small enough). The clamps can be found at hardware stores and most box stores-- the quilter's clamps may be harder to find.

Sounds like an interesting project, have fun!
