Physics help!!?!?!!!?
So there's a question on my ap physics b lab and I kinda don't understand it.... the question is: suppose a simple pendulum is lowered straight down the center of a lighthouse from the top. How HIGH would the lighthouse be if the measured period of the pendulum is 5.5 seconds? Assume we are on the planet earth.
So basically what I think the first sentence is irrelevant. T= 5.5s, G= 9.80m/s², and the height is L=? I don't know what formula to use please help me!!!! I would be so grateful!!!!

For small oscillations T = 2π√(L/g), therefore
L = gT²/4π² = (9.8)(5.5)²/4π² = 7.5m

you are 100% wrong. the first sentence is the most relevent qart of the question.
a simple pendulum swings (read the chapter or go to class) and there is a formula to figure out the period of the swing of the pendulum. so basically they give you the period. which is 5.5 seconds to make 1 revolution. now you use the PENDULUM EQUATION to find the distance.

So ap physics is solely rather rough, and as invariably will depend on the trainer as good (is he/she a just right teacher? Plenty or little work, and so forth...) additionally depends upon what else you are taking when you take ap physics, if the opposite lessons don't seem to be tough and that you may focal point on the category, then it relies and it is determined by you, and how the area is for you, and how rough you want to work at it sorry if this doesn't support, but there are quite a lot of causes...
