Google Drive: can I delete files on my computer from the website?

I use Google Drive as a way to make sure very important files (my writing and music) are backed up in case my computer crashes. A couple days ago, someone tried to access my google account. They didn't get in, and I have since changed my password. But if they got access to my Google Drive, could they potentially delete everything, including everything that is locally stored on my computer? That would suck so bad... If that happens that would be way worse than just not using Google Drive in the first place and betting on a hard drive crash. I think I'll double back up those files to another cloud storage for now on, but I still would like to know the answer to my question.
