Pokemon HeartGold question?

I'm worried about my saved data going corrupt on my Pokemon HeartGold since I've gotten so far on the game. Is there any way I can help prevent the saved file from going corrupt or make it unlikely to go corrupt? I don't want to have to restart my adventure.

A save file will only become corrupted if you damage the cartridge, (it's harder to break DS cartridges though,) if you use AR / Gameshark codes and sometimes with old cartridges, (but HeartGold is still relatively new.) So as long as you take good care of your game and don't cheat, you shouldn't have to worry about corrupted save files. on your HeartGold.
