Comparing Michael Jordan with Kareem. Both have 6 rings. Kareem has 5 more All Stars. Kareem has 3 more MVP awards.

Obviously Kareem couldn't carry a team by himself as testament to that in his PRIME his teams with Milwaukee and LA missed the play-offs (aged 27-28). Although Jordan would suffer the same set back it was latter in his career and obviously when he was very much out of prime (39-40).
For the longest time Kareem ever played Jordan's production in the play-offs eclipses the guy (More so in points total). And you know a player is defined by his play-off action more than the regular season.
Hope this helps.

Because anybody that would even suggest Kareem as being a better player then Michael Jordan is clearly insane, oh and don't ever compare all star selections when the two players you are comparing didn't play the same amount of seasons...

I have Kareem 2nd GOAT.
By the way Kareem has 1 more MVP and 4 fewer Finals MVP's than Jordan.

I think it's because all the championship teams that he was on were with an all-time great (Oscar Robinson and Magic Johnson). He could not win without them. Although Scottie Pippen is also an all-time great, he is not on the same level as Oscar Robinson and Magic Johnson. Also, Michael Jordan was the best player on all his championship teams, Kareem was only the best on two of his. I would say Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson are the only two players ahead of him though.

He played in a different era of NBA, and more people know who Michael Jordan is. Jordan is the most popular NBA player ever.
He should get some consideration because he has the most points in NBA of all time, and that's really impressive! Also, won champioships from college basketball to professional basketball.
