Warm currents like that happen on the east coast of continents located in the mid-latitudes and flow past into higher latitudes almost to the frigid zone turning back to some distance (only) on the continent on the other side (its Western higher latitudes).
These conditions are fulfilled in the Pacific Ocean too. A warm current forms just near East China Sea & Philippine Sea, flow past Japan islands till the Aleutian islands to turn east & then wash the Canadian West (Pacific) Coast. A string of off-shore islands from China, keep the current to drift away from its shore. Unlike the Atlantic which is narrow from north to south, where the current can be effectively directed; the Pacific is very wide and the warm current called ''Kurosio'' occupies a fraction of the Pacific, yet as effective as Gulf stream. Even its extent (length) is longer than 'Gulf Stream' & hence its lower effect in contrast, when it turns south on the west coast of N. America.
Only South America amongst southern continents extends beyond mid-latitudes. Its Brazilian current is also a warm current. The circumpolar frigid current (W→E) that circles around Antarctica (unlike in the Arctic where the N. America & Eurasian landforms block such current to form) fans out beyond Cape Horn (at the tip of Tierra del Feugo island) as 'West Wind Drift' to quench Brazilian current before it reaches Patagonian shores (Southern Argentina). It is the reason why Patagonia is a (mild) desert, the only major desert on a continental east coast.
East Australian current (beyond & south of Brisbane) is another such warm current, of Australia. Mozambique current fed on Monsoon drift along east African coast continuing as Agulhas current (till Agulhas) is the other warm current pertaining to Africa.
