Does the SSA want you to be on meds for PTSD to recieve SSDI?

I have an ALJ hearing and am concerned that the SSA wants you to be on meds even if the meds I have been on before made things worse.

If you are prescribed medication and it works then you would be expected to take them. If they don't work then there is no reason to take them. The whole point of medicating is to alleviate symptoms - not make things worse.

If your prescribing physician has indicated in his/her medical report that you don't follow prescribed treatment for unacceptable reasons then your claim can't be approved.

I doubt it, but why not ask your lawyer? (And, if you haven't hired one yet, this is time to do so. They don't guarantee a win, but they know more of the law than any of us and don't get paid unless they win. AND, if you win, then they're paid out of your back pay, si it doesn't hurt to pay the lawyer.)
