As I am sure you know, bruises are broken vessels under the skin and most often caused by bumps although they are common in athletes who exercise regularly.
There are two types of bruises...
Intramuscular: It is a tearing of the muscle within the sheath that surrounds it. This means that the initial bleeding may stop within hours, due to the increased pressure within the You do not have access to view this node. On the other hand, the fluid is not capable to escape as the muscle sheath prevents it. The result is significant loss of function and pain which can take days or weeks to recover.
Intermuscular: It is a tearing of the muscle and part of the sheath surrounding it. This means that the initial bleeding will take longer to stop, particularly if ice is not applied. Nevertheless, recovery is quite faster than intramuscular as the blood and fluids can flow away from the area of injury.
There are a number of factors that can cause bruising
- blood thinners
- low in iron.
- low in essential fatty acids
It is worth checking the internet for additional symptoms for anemia and increasing your intake of foods rich in iron. You might also consider Chia Seeds, they will help with essential fatty acids in a healthy way.
For the severe bruising look up a supplier of homeopathic Arnica 30. Arnica is incredible for helping with bruising. Keep taking until you see signs of improvement and then stop. Homeopathy will continue to work after you stop taking them.

Is it possible that it could be from having sex? I know that's kinda personal, but I used to wake up with some bruises on my thighs and I kept getting worried and then realized they were basically thumbprint size bruises. That's what it was with me anyways, just thought I'd throw that out there. You also bruise easily when you're low on Vitamin C. I've been taking the chewable Vitamin C tablets and it has helped. Hope this helps!

Normally this is caused by anemia, which is an iron deficiency. I would take iron supplements or a multivitamin if you don't already.
