Can anyone help solve this problem using substitution?

2x = y + 5

3x + y = 9

Find the POI using substitution.

    2x = y+ 5

    y= 2x - 5

    and we have

    3x + y = 9 , y= 2x - 5

    then

    3x + 2x - 5 = 9 x = 14/5 y = 3/5

    y = 2x - 5

    x = 14/5

    y = 3/5
