    Probably not.

Brilliant man but his actions during the Quasi War were far from presidential. He somehow managed to ignore the issues between Jefferson and Hamilton and that political inaction decreased his political power because both sides disliked him.

Just because a person is brilliant and can do great things (and Adams was and did) does not make a good president.

He did the right thing and possibly saved America (or rather kept America out of a war that could have ended America). However, even though he did what needed to be done, he did not do what the people wanted. I would have to say I would have voted for Jefferson.

    Nope.

    1) Alien and Sedition Act

    2) He was up against Thomas Jefferson

I wasn't old enough to vote back then.
