Car Insurance Renewal - cooling off period?

My insurers have renewed my car insurance policy because I mistakenly thought the previous policy ended 5 days after it did. Their policy was considerably higher than I could get elsewhere. I have had 5 days cover - can I cancel without penalty?

    Talk to your insurers.

The 14 day cooling off period only applies to new purchases, as I understand it, renewals are a different kettle of fish.

You need to call them up and find out what their cancellation policies are. They also might be able to give you a better quote once they find out you're leaving, so it's definitely worth a try.

I recently had a similar issue with my insurance, luckily they only charged me a token amount to cover the extra days I had been covered by the renewal and refunded the rest.

I doubt it, somewhere in the renewal notice it will have told you that unless you cancel before the renewal date they would renew automatically.

Another way thet screw money out of you.

Read the small print but I bet they have it tied up tighter than a duck's orifice.

An digital signature (i.e. clicking comply with the words and clicking post) is in basic terms as valid as a actual one. you are able to constantly touch a close-by customer advocacy team although i do no longer think of you have lots of a leg to stand on.
