Dang, yo got the whole deal. Even if this is the CS5.5 collection, this is not cheap. I am a graphic designer that is not a fan of adobe because it was so confusing to learn, but they are great, top of the line programs though for mainly graphic designers. I got to work with a handful in school and I can tell you that some of these are useless and a few I have never heard of. You might have gotten the CS6 version which is a couple hundred bucks per program, even in suite form. These are professional and if I wasn't running Linux, I would ask if I could get a copy haha, Just kidding. Now to answer your question:

Illustrator is your Vector Graphics builder and editor. You can make any kind of illustration and logo with it.

Photoshop is your photo editing software and is a really good one; similar to GIMP.

InDesign is like for your page design for magazines and books, but you can do the same work faster with Illustrator. this is one of those useless programs that are very tough to learn.

Dreamweaver is not originally Adobe so it is kinda weird sometimes. It is your web design program. I know people who can type the codes fluently, but it also has a setting where you can see everything that you are doing and it types the code for you. Starting ot with a basic template off the internet is a good place to begin learning how to work the program.

Flash is your 2D video animation. I never got into that, but I believe that it works along side after effects and Premiere Pro, as well as your other programs.

Flash, After Effects, Fireworks, and Premiere (maybe Encore just by the name) all work with video and 3D animation, like for movies, as I am told. I was never taught those programs. I was taught only the logo, web, and page design.

the other programs that you have are more of managing files, but I have never heard of Prelude unless it has any relation to my car. haha.

Most of the programs by Adobe are interweaved with eachother, meaning that you can open an Illustrator file (.ai) in Photoshop and vise versa and with other programs withing your collection and anyohers that you may get in the future.

    I hope this has helped!

    Gabriel.
