l> To upload a profile pic:
Click your pic of avatar or My Activity > Click Edit My Preferences >> here click either Add Photo or Change name and follow as per there required.
Once you've upload a photo selecte photo by clicking photo then click use seclected and finely click submit.
To create a carton avatar:
l> Go to with this link customize an avatar as well as would you like.

Once you've done customize an avatar come back in this link http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my_edit and click "Use My Yahoo Avatar" or select scroll down and click "Preview" then click "Ok" to the next screen.
