Had a nightmare my son was hit by car?

You need to keep in mind that your dream is about you and not your son.

A son may represent the youthful part of yourself. He may also represent your own potential. Perhaps you recognise in him the ideal and hopes that you once had.

The accident dream is not necessarily a premonition of the future so do not jump to conclusions. Nightmares of this type reveal deep anxieties and fears. The car crash may symbolise your emotional state. Are you driving yourself too hard? Perhaps you should slow your life down a bit. If your life feels like it is set on a course for disaster, examine your mistakes and resolve to set a new and better course. If the accident happens to someone else in your dream then examine your heart for you may have suppressed hostility towards that person. Unexpressed jealousy resentment or hatred may be finding its release through your dream. A car crash dream usually means that you feel like your life is a wreck

While distressing, nightmares can tell us a great deal about ourselves. In particular what we fear, what causes us the most emotional pain and what is holding us back in life. Nightmares are usually expressing deep feelings and thoughts that we are unconscious of - that is why they are so frightening - because they are bringing to our attention emotions that were perceived to be threatening and/or overwhelming at some point in the past.

If we were to ask ourselves what are the effects of nightmares, we could say that they give us an amazing opportunity for self knowledge and understanding and also the opportunity to overcome the issue and move forward in life. Nightmares give us the chance for deep healing to occur. Nightmares can also occur when we have physiological disturbances while we are asleep. For instance being too hot, too cold, having a fever, having ingested a lot of alcohol or drugs or starting a new medication.

Specific nightmares can often be recurring. Once you address the issues in your bad dream and understand your nightmare you will not have it again. This may be motivation enough to acknowledge the problems your nightmare is bringing to your attention.

The dream might mean that your worried your five year old will feel forgotten and left out once you have your new baby. Him dying in the dream symbolizes him no longer being noticed when your new child is around.

Your five year old is in no more danger now than before you had the dream. I can see that being a frightening dream but dreams don't predict the future thankfully. Often times dreams are based on what you were thinking before you went to sleep. Is it possible your worried about him being ignored or that he'll feel left out after the baby is born? If not, there's probably another reason.

Death of a child I read can also mean that it's time for the "death" of your immaturity. Maybe since you are having another kid, it's time for you to grow up.

There could be plenty of reasons for the dream but I can assure you that your dream did not indicate danger. Just relax and try not to stress about stuff too much during the day.

your having another kid. your son is representing your baby. it means your kinda scared about the pregnancy and your thinking alot about it and you want it to be safe and all, so your just worrying alot, you have those kinda dreams when you worry and since u dont know what the baby looks like, your sons image is taking his place. hope that made sence. in other words your son will be fine, its all because you want your baby to be safe and your worrying bout it.
