what is meant by 4.22p and 4.042p ?

what is meant by 4.22p and 4.042p ?

(I'm looking at energy companies for gas)

it cant be £4.22 per unit ?

Update:

so, they are both the same...not much difference, its only 4p

but..how comes when i look at 2 companies...Atlantic Gas shows 4.22p and British Gas 4.042p...,

when i multiply using the same kwh of 8715 i get 2 big different answers:

4.22p x 8715 = £367.77 by atlantic, and

4.042p x 8715 = £352.26 by British Gas

I know its not a huge difference but still theres a quite a bit of distance even though both prices are 4p ?

The first is almost 4¼p per unit, the second is only a tiny bit above 4p a unit.

Another way of looking at it:

    100 units cost £4.22 or £4.04
